Reading: Psalm 92:1-4, 12-15

The freedom of music is amazing. Strong emotions can be stifled in words, but set to music; even the deepest of feelings can pour forth. Of course, it isn't always joy. Doubt, fear, contentment, all emotions we experience in our faith journey, can be expressed in song. The wonderful thing is that God already knows how we are feeling; God's already there. Still, God has given us the gift of music for us to be freed, not bound, in our emotions.
Let your song burst forth unto God!

Lord, thank you for the gift of music. You already know how we are feeling, but you have given us the freedom to express it. We do sing praises to your name, O Most High. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Please join us for worship!!! We invite you to come to either our Sunday worship service at 9:30 a.m. or our Thursday worship service at 6:30 p.m. Please watch the schedule for special events to celebrate our new mid-week service on Thursdays. Everyone is welcome!
Mark your calendars for a special Festival on Saturday, June 27th. Please plan to attend an old fashioned picnic with a silent auction, children's activities and music festival from 4 pm until 7 pm at Restoration Gardens. All proceeds will benefit local and world hunger needs as designated in honor of our church's 75th Anniversary. If you have items to donate or would like more information, please contact the church office.

2009 is a special year for First United! This year we celebrate our 75th Anniversary! Sunday, July 19, Steve Farwig will be preaching and sharing in our celebration. There will be a special event on Sunday, November 8. Please save this date, because we will gather at Rangeline Inn and share a meal and rejoice in the first 75 years of our congregaiton's life. Please join us as we celebrate and remember the history of our church!
As the 75th anniversary of our congregation approaches, we’re excited to begin work on a new Pictorial Directory! Our goal is to have 100% participation, with every member of First United being photographed for the directory. To help accommodate busy schedules, three different photo appointment months have been selected, and the next session will be in September. To make this process even easier, you will be able to set up your appointment online. For those members who do not have internet access, volunteers will be available on a Sunday morning to help you reserve your appointment. Have you lost your job or experienced changes at your workplace? You are invited to join Pastor Todd Smith as he hosts a group of individuals who are meeting on Tuesdays at noon to share a brown bag lunch as well as ideas for working through these challenging economic times. Please call the church office if you have questions.

We will be collecting pencils, thin bath towels, toothbrushes, inflatable balls, and safety pops (suckers) during the month of May to send to Tanzania ! Please help by placing donated items in the basket in the Gathering Area. Thank you!

Great Beginnings Preschool is now accepting enrollments for the 2009-2010 school year. If you have a child who will turn 3 years of age by September 1, and you would like more information on our program, please contact Mary Gorges in the church office.
