| VILs to see the movie
“Seabiscuit” on Monday, March 15
The VILs and their friends are invited to gather
in the Genszler Room at 2:00 p.m. this Monday, March 15, to enjoy
viewing the Academy Award-nominated film “Seabiscuit.”
Popcorn will be served. After the showing, we’ll enjoy pies
and coffee. If you are able to come, please call the church office
at 452-2401 as soon as possible (so we have enough pie!).
If you need a ride, please call the office and
we’ll arrange a ride for you.
VILs will learn about woodcarving in April
Pam Moir, a member of First United and a gifted
woodcarver, will present a program to us on Tuesday, April 20. Please
come to fellowship hall at 1:30 p.m. Pam will demonstrate carving
techniques and also have some of her wonderful woodcarving pieces
on display. Please call the church if you plan to attend. We will
have ice cream sundae treats after the program.
The Phantom of the Opera
trip is all set for May 6
We have a full motorcoach to see the Tony Award-winning
Best Musical “The Phantom of the Opera” at the Fox Cities
Performing Arts Center in Appleton on Thursday, May 6. Thanks to
all of you for paying for this trip in advance. Plan to be at church
for departure at 10:00 a.m. that morning.
We will enjoy lunch at the Machine Shed before
the 2:00 p.m. performance. If you would be so kind as to call the
church at 452-2401 to give us your entree selection, we would really
appreciate it. The choices are: Country Fried Chicken (lightly seasoned
and golden fried) or Baked Ham (tender, dry-cured ham from Farmland).
Included with either choice are “fixin’s” of cole
slaw, cottage cheese, potato of the day, vegetable of the day, freshly
baked breads and beverages of coffee, tea, milk, juice or soda.
We will also have ice cream for dessert. The cost of this meal is
$10, and you are welcome to send this money to the church office
at your convenience. The VIL Planning Committee will have coolers
on the bus in case there are leftovers!
If you have any questions about the trip, please
call the church office. Also, if the trip sounds like fun and you
would like to go, we would start a waiting list in case someone
is unable to attend.
Please note: The VIL Planning Committee is always
looking for events and spots of interest for our group. Please let
them or the office know if you have any ideas. Thanks |
