Learn about Norway and enjoy an ice cream social

All VILs and their guests are invited to gather in the Genszler Room at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 15 for an ice cream social and a guest speaker. Jim Russell will be sharing memories from his trip to Norway. Jim and his family have taken many trips outside the United States and he has a slide presentation which focuses on the time he spent in this beautiful Scandinavian country. We will also be enjoying an old-fashioned Ice Cream Social, which sounds delightful in this season of very warm weather! Come and join us in a cool and pleasant location, as we share ice cream and fascinating information about Norway. Please call the church office if you plan to attend, and also be sure to call the church if you need a ride to the event.

VILs take a trip to Green Bay

On Monday, September 19, we’ll take a tour of the Natural Ovens plant in Manitowoc, tour the beautiful West of the Lake Gardens, have lunch at the Courthouse Pub in Manitowoc, and then head to Green Bay to prepare for the fall season of football. We plan to tour the Packer Hall of Fame as well as take the Stadium tour. We’ll end our day at the Seroogy’s shop, sampling chocolates and coffees. The cost of the trip is $39 and is open to the first 47 persons who get their payments into the church office. Please contact the church office to sign up for this fun day.

No Overnight Trip planned at this time

The VIL planning committee will postpone making a decision on the overnight trip to Iowa. There were not enough positive responses to the survey to plan a trip at this time.


Dorf Kapelle Concert

The Dorf Kapelle Concert will be held at the Manitowoc County Airport on Saturday, August 20., and the concert will be from 7:00-9:00 p.m. There are eight (8) tickets available free of charge to the first persons who contact the church office. Food and beverages will be available at the EAA hangar. You are asked to bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and dancing shoes!

August 15 - Ice Cream Social and Presentation on Norway by Jim Russell.

September 19 - Tours of Natural Ovens and West of the Lake gardens, lunch at the Courthouse Pub and a tour of the Green Bay Packers’ Hall of Fame and Stadium in the afternoon.

October - Guest Speaker and fellowship

November 7 - Harvest Dinner at noon at City Streets

December - View the special Christmas displays at the Sheboygan County Historical Society and return to church for refreshments and singing.
