The Foundation Fund
By action of the congregation in June, 1985, First
United Lutheran Church formed a Foundation Fund to receive gifts
for the ministry of the church.
The
purpose of the fund is to enhance the benevolent mission of First
United Lutheran Church apart from the general operation of the congregation.
Our outreach is targeted in four major areas. First, we support
scholarships and grants to members for the purpose of growing in
their Christian faith and in service to God's people. Second, we
will support outreach into the community, ELCA colleges, seminaries,
social service agencies and people in spiritual or economic need.
Third, we will support missions of the ELCA; and fourth, we will
support non-budgeted capital improvements, debt reduction or building
programs of the church.
Gifts of any amount are welcomed, and we encourage
our friends to share their blessings through this means. This fund
was established to encourage gifts in the form of present transfers
or deferred giving. Examples include securities, real estate, cash,
bequests, trusts, annuities, and life insurance. The funds are managed
under the watchful eye of an elected Board of Directors who are
pledged to recognize the intent of the donor as they promote the
mission of our church.
As Christians, we have a need to respond to God's
love and mercy. Your gift to the Foundation Fund fills the need
to respond by giving while providing for the growth of the Christian
mission.
Your gift to the Foundation Fund is a gift to the
future of the church.
