Small Groups and Fellowship Groups
Prayer Group - Announced
Meets weekly for one hour for devotional time and prayer concerns.
Rainbow Kids - Announced
An organization that offers support to children experiencing the
loss of a parent through death or divorce.
Very Important Lutherans
(VILs) - Announced/Daytime
Fellowship group for adults, age 55 and older, that usually plans
a social event once per month. They occasionally offer a group trip
out of the area.
Grief Support - Three
Times/Year
Meets several times per year to offer support and encouragement
to persons grieving the loss of a loved one.
Dart Ball - Thursday
7:30 p.m.
Fellowship group that plays dartball once per week with other church
teams.
Baptism Preparation
- Announced
A brief instructional meeting to instruct adults about Baptism.
Movies and Spirituality
- Announced
A movie-goers group that attends a movie once per month and meets
afterwards for discussion and fellowship.
First United Players
- Announced
A spiritual drama group that expresses their faith in skits, plays
and readers’ theatre format.
Quilters - Second
& Fourth Wednesday 9:00 a.m.
A group of volunteers that meets two days per month to assemble
quilts for needy persons in Third World countries.
Dining Out Group -
Monthly
A fellowship group that meets once per month at area restaurants
to dine and socialize.
Family Life Group -
Quarterly
A fellowship group that meets four times per year to share intergenerational
activities for all ages.
Tables of Eight - Four Times/Year
A fellowship group that meets in small groups for an evening of
home dining and getting to know fellow congregation members.
Helping Hands is a work group that
meets as needed to prepare homemade meals that are frozen in individual
servings and made available to individuals and families experiencing
transitions such as illness, hospitalization, birth of a baby or
family emergencies.
Befrienders are trained lay men and
women who commit time to be available as listening and supportive
friends to people who are experiencing any of life’s transitions.
They meet four to six times a year for continued training, fellowship
and support.
Cultural Diversity Task Force is
a group of individuals who are interested in looking at the issue
of cultural diversity in Sheboygan and within our congregation,
and exploring ways to help us become more culturally diverse. Leaders
from each of the minority groups of Sheboygan are regularly scheduled
to speak at the meetings. Anyone interested in attending is welcome;
check the bulletin and Good News for dates, or call the church office
at 452-2401
Bible Study groups:
Morningstar is a men’s group which meets
for breakfast and Bible study on Tuesday mornings at 6:30 a.m.
Mom’s Bible Study is a group for young mothers
which meets at church on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Childcare
is provided.
